Reaching the final stages of my placement project

I’m getting nearer to the finish line with my placement project, it’s been a dedication of work over the last few weeks and months, pulling together my placement report. The team has been an enormous help, dedicating their time for me to gather input, and statistics right across the business departments, from nutrition, and sales, to marketing.

Continuing with trials

I have been back out this month weighing piglets in Dorset – I have been attending a few visits on my own, which has been great to take all of those learnings from the team and put them into practice for my very own visits. I caught up with the farm manager and weighed piglets, which we’re finding continued great results.

I also attended a few farm visits with Account Manager, Sian Southwell and Young Animal Feed Manager, Tim Sawyer. We visited a couple of outdoor units for a VIDA review, where we checked the piglet’s health, performance, and if there is anything we can do more to support the customer.

Finalising projects

I have now finished my North Hub project - It has been great to hand over all of my research and findings and see these being put into practice to improve efficiencies across logistics and improve the service we can offer in the North to our customer base there.

Turning 21

I turned 21 this month! I travelled back to Northern Ireland for a break away and a few celebratory drinks with friends and family.

During down time back at home I visited a local machinery auction and spent time on a family friends farm.

I thoroughly enjoyed a visit back to Harper Adams for the Summer Ball at the end of the month, a great time catching up with friends ahead of returning in a few months’ time.
