A bit about me

I’m originally from Fintona, a small town in the west of Northern Ireland. I have always had a keen interest in agriculture, working on local dairy and beef farms.

I have just completed my second year at university and now I’m excited to start my placement journey, via the AHDB Pig industry scholarship scheme, with ForFarmers.

My passion for the industry

My passion for the pig industry started from a summer placement with a local pig farm, it’s such an interesting and diverse sector of agriculture! After this I was hooked!

I join the ForFarmers team as the Sales Development Student. I’m looking forward to experiencing all areas of the business. Starting off in the Young Animal Feed team I’ll work with technical, marketing and our production supply chain.

My goals for the year

I want to gain a better understanding of how ForFarmers to provide the high level of service to customers.

The ban of Zinc in piglet diets will also come into play during my placement, June 2022, so I’m looking forward to being part of the plans ForFarmers has to support producers through this challenge.

I look forward to sharing updates through this blog, along the way!
