Werken bij ForFarmers

February 2021

I have now passed the halfway point in my placement, I can’t believe how fast time has gone! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working across different departments so far, it’s really helped me build a valuable overview of the entire ForFarmers business.

February has been a month of learning about data analysis with Microsoft Excel to identify patterns and trends with the technical team.

Recently, I’ve also been involved in planning some market research with the marketing and technical teams- It’s easy to think 'it would be nice to know…’, but the Marketing team has encouraged me to consider 'what will I do with the data/responses?'.

I also had another opportunity to present to our UK pig team! Nerve-racking, once again, but involved great opportunity.

The reality of working from home

I’ve faced extra challenges working from home recently. Whether it was my temperamental heating or Wifi, my dog sleeping on my lap, or my four-year-old brother joining Teams meetings- it’s been interesting!

To come in March…

With exciting projects due to start in April, I’ll begin working more closely with the account manager team- getting an insight into improving customer service experiences.

Fitness February

Last month ForFarmers set up 'Fitness February' with a club on Strava encouraging us all to get outside. This motivated me to get outside before and after work, and as a result of my activity levels, I won a ForFarmers water bottle! The tight-knit ForFarmers community has also been a fantastic opportunity for me to network virtually with the ruminant side of the business.

Going the whole hog!

To vary my lockdown diet and widen my culinary skills, I have been exploring AHDBs Love Pork recipes. A firm family favourite so far is the caramelised apple and sage pulled pork! I’d thoroughly recommend!
