ForFarmers has strengthened its beef and sheep team with the appointment of senior ruminant specialist Eurig Evans.

Eurig, who is based in Newcastle Emlyn in Carmarthenshire, brings a wealth of experience of beef and sheep production, logistics and a proven track record in sales.

His career to date has included working for a Northamptonshire-based livestock feed company, driving HGVs for a fuel supplier, and more recently in concrete and fuel sales with a large proportion of farming customers.

Eurig balances his new role with ForFarmers alongside running his family farm with his wife Jane. Together they rear beef calves to sell as stores and are also developing a Beef Shorthorn suckler herd. The couple also run the Penrherber flock of LLanwenog sheep, producing pedigree breeding stock as well as commercial crosses.

“I am really pleased to join the ForFarmers team and being back to focusing on helping farming customers day to day, which is where my heart is,” said Eurig. “I will be working with customers across west Wales, advising on the best nutrition to suit the needs of their stock, while making sure we meet expectations on price and delivery.”

Eurig has a son Dewi (20) who is currently at college and daughter Carys (18) who recently started studying at the Royal Veterinary College in London. He is currently chair of the Llanwenog Sheep Society, is a sheep judge and enjoys showing sheep himself too.

Alister Davies, commercial manager beef and sheep for ForFarmers added: “We are delighted to welcome Eurig to the team. He is a familiar face to many farmers in his region and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.”
