12 Students will be looking into the ForFarmers sustainability case

Last Friday, ForFarmers became acquainted with the students who are going to be looking into our sustainability case during the Sustainable Business Challenge. The ForFarmers case is all about circular agriculture.

ForFarmers is participating with the Netherlands’ most sustainable business case competition for the first time this year. Students are organised into teams to work on companies’ sustainability issues. KLM Cargo, ProRail, Waternet and Engie will also be taking part alongside ForFarmers.

Getting to know each other

One thing all the 12 students who are going to be working for ForFarmers have in common is a passion for sustainability. Their backgrounds vary, with chosen studies including Sustainable Development, Mechanical Engineering and Food Quality Management, right through to Animal and Livestock Farming. An impressive collection of knowledge and backgrounds.

Three groups, consisting of four students each, will be getting to work for each company. The students were able to get to know each other and the company which they are going to be doing the case for during the kick off. We then gave a presentation about ForFarmers and provided more information regarding our own case. The fact that the students are motivated to get to work on the case was apparent from the many substantive questions they asked! It was a successful day, with many great discussions.

We’ll be welcoming our student teams in Lochem next Friday for a so-called ‘in-house’ day. They will be provided with detailed information about the case and ForFarmers, and they’ll be visiting a farmer who uses circular working methods.

We’ll keep you informed!
