Rebecca Turner, Supply Chain Development Project Manager

Tell us a little about your role, how long have you been with ForFarmers?

I’ve been working at ForFarmers since 2013, starting as a Customer Service Operator. Since then I’ve built up my experience in customer service and complaints management, which led to a secondment in 2020 to be involved in implementing a new customer complaints system. This secondment helped me discover my love for project management and this has now become my permanent position.

What does your role look like day-to-day?

I’m responsible for improving the experience of our customers and supply chain efficiencies. At the moment I’m leading a change management programme for an ongoing ordering project. This has resulted in the development of myForFarmers, a system which aims to be a one-stop online shop for livestock feed orders.

As part of the project to create myForFarmers I have been preparing user requirements and working with the developers to establish what needs to be built. My colleagues and I are now testing the programme, before then focusing on training all internal colleagues and implementing the system with our customers. I’m really proud of what we have achieved with the myForFarmers project over the past 18 months and I’m looking forward to introducing our customers to the system.

What do you like about working at ForFarmers?

ForFarmers have been fantastic at supporting my development over the last decade. I’ve been able to expand my skillset with both internal and external training, and this has helped me progress in my role. Coming from outside agriculture I’ve also had lots of opportunities to learn more about the industry from many of our knowledgeable experts, which has been really fascinating.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

I’ve been involved in several projects now to improve the experience of our customers and I get so much satisfaction knowing that the systems we have put in place make their lives easier. Working on such a variety of projects has also given me experience in all sorts of different areas and has allowed me to progress in my role.

I also work with some fantastic colleagues, and it’s great to be able to get the job done efficiently while also sharing some laughs!

Outside of work…

I really enjoy just spending time with family and friends outside of work. At the weekends I like to enjoy cake at a tearoom and then burn off some of the calories with a walk in our local woods. I’m lucky enough to live in the Staffordshire Moorlands, which isn’t too far from the Peak District, so I also really enjoy getting out and enjoying this beautiful area.
