How long have you been working at ForFarmers?

I originally joined ForFarmers back when it was BOCM Pauls and then spent some time away from the business before re-joining a year and a half ago. I was attracted back to ForFarmers as I really like that their focus is on supporting farmers and not just selling a product.

What do you like about your job?

While I don’t come from a farming background and I ended up falling into agriculture by chance, it is an industry I love. Getting to meet so many different farmers across the country and talk to them about their business is the best thing about my role.

I like spending time with my customers to gain a thorough understanding of their business and what they are hoping to achieve. This helps me to provide the best options for them to make progress towards their aims. I get a lot of satisfaction from knowing that I have made my customer’s job a little bit easier.

What does the average day look like for you?

I like to always have a plan so I keep track of important dates for my customers to understand what they might need and when. This helps me to ensure that I am always supporting my customers effectively and targeting my daily calls well. I also spend time speaking to new prospects. It is always interesting to speak to potential new customers to learn more about their business and how we might be able to support them.

What do you like about working at ForFarmers?

I’ve always felt like they have your back. My manager is very supportive and is able to offer guidance whenever I need it. My colleagues are also great people to work with. There is a real sense of camaraderie; while we can have a laugh together, we are also there to help each other out too.

What do you do outside of work?

I like to challenge myself both mentally and physically. At the moment I am training for a Hyrox, a race which combines running and functional fitness. The training can be quite tough but I like to push myself!

I also enjoy taking things a bit slower and going on weekends away with my husband to North Scotland. We stay in log cabins and do some cold water swimming whenever we get the chance.
