Tell us a little about your role, how long have you been with ForFarmers?

I am a Demand Planner and have been with ForFarmers for over 3 years, working as part of the sales & operations team for pig, poultry, and leisure. My role is extremely varied and interesting - one of the main focuses each month is a forecasting review with the account managers across each area so that we can review any future requirements for manufacturing and logistics.

I also coordinate the game season being the central link in the chain between customer services, the sales teams, and the mills - helping with any queries and resolving any issues that may arise.

Why did you join ForFarmers?

I’ve always had an interest in agriculture and have worked in other industries in similar supply chain roles. ForFarmers really appealed to me as this gave me the opportunity to work in different areas within one organisation - one minute I’m working on game, then the next pig or poultry.

Working in supply chain planning, tell us about a typical day at work?

No day is the same! It depends on where we are within the monthly forecasting cycle, and if there are any issues that may need resolving on the day.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

The people I work with, we really are a team, and there’s always something new to learn in this industry so I’m always asking lots of questions!

What are you currently focussing on in the business at the moment?

Game is currently the main focus, and will be until the end of the season, it’s an extremely busy time helping to coordinate the season alongside the rest of the team. 

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?

When you are having a bad day or nervous about something, those few hours are only a very small moment in your life. It’s something my mum has always said to me, and always helped keep me focused.
