Encourage the team to be succesful

Being the North Business Unit Central Sales Team Manager, my main task is to manage a team of nine Account Managers in a strong dairy area Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire & Herefordshire. I also work closely together with the mills that supply these areas with compound feed.

My tasks vary from offering ongoing support to farmers, to training and advising the team and liaising and planning with various specialists and product managers to promote full product offerings and knowledge to Accountmanagers.

What I really enjoy in my role is the ability to encourage the team to be successful and to offer tailored solutions to customers improving there performance and profitability.

We work closely with farmers so that we understand exactly what products and systems will meet their specific needs. Because of this local knowledge, we can be the voice of our customers within ForFarmers. Although our business is local in nature, it is supported by our pan-European operation which allows us to share best practice, not just within, but across countries.

Our customers have access to a comprehensive range of the best information available through dedicated advisors. They know and understand each customer’s circumstances well and are able to pick the right solutions and applications. ForFarmers’ big advantage is that because of its size, it can compete in a global market; on the other hand it can offer local support and flexibility.

On the move

ForFarmers is a company on the move, investing in its staff and facilities as well as in R&D in an industry which has been in decline. This enables customers to compete in the ever challenging global food industry. That’s what motivated me to join ForFarmers.

ForFarmers ambition is to work with world class teams, and that’s why training and development are an important pillar in the strategy. This gives me great opportunities to progress my own personal as well as career progression.
